An important part of Victoria's Heritage

As at February 28th 2014
Cleverly integrated with the spectator mound, the grandstand forms a dominant element in the flat racecourse landscape.

  • The Grandstand was added to the Victorian Heritage Register in 2006.
  • It is one of the few surviving examples of an early 20th century country racecourse grandstand.
  • The Camperdown Grandstand Restoration Committee has devoted much time and energy to saving the building.
  • Heritage Victoria has been very supportive with grants and restoration advice.
  • The Corangamite Shire has supported the committee’s work.
  • The committee still pursues grants and has held fundraising activities towards the restoration project.
  • Donations will greatly assist this project.
