An important part of Victoria's Heritage
Cleverly integrated with the spectator mound, the grandstand forms a dominant element in the flat racecourse landscape.
- The Grandstand was added to the Victorian Heritage Register in 2006.
- It is one of the few surviving examples of an early 20th century country racecourse grandstand.
- The Camperdown Grandstand Restoration Committee has devoted much time and energy to saving the building.
- Heritage Victoria has been very supportive with grants and restoration advice.
- The Corangamite Shire has supported the committee’s work.
- The committee still pursues grants and has held fundraising activities towards the restoration project.
- Donations will greatly assist this project.
